Sorry, folks. Life and work swamped. by Kittiara

Sorry everyone, I've gone silent as I handle everything going on right now as my partner moves a thousand miles away, as I'm slammed with work deadlines (and commissions crammed in any nook and cranny of time I can find...), and usually a healthy dose of kind of annoying snow to top it all off. Roommate search is coming up, rescued a cat who I'm doing my best to tenderly care for as she recovers from spay surgery (needs another round of ear mite treatments, etc).

Sorry, folks. Life and work swamped.

Ouch, that's a lot of stuff to deal with. I hope everything goes alright for you. Goodluck with finding a roommate, as well as your work. Sorry to hear about your partner and snow, as well as that poor kitty. :(

Unacceptable! You should be uploading arts! Your existence belongs to the fandom and all real life is meaningless by comparison...

No seriously though, your real life is more important and nobody faults you for having life concerns which distract you from us silly animal people on the intar-toobz. Hope everything settles down into a pleasant and rewarding routine for you soon!

Wow, I hope everything slows down for you soon. It's never fun being swamped with stuff.

Hope everything smooths out for you eventually. You are a kind person for taking in the Kitty, using mineral oil to clean out the ear mite mess is a cheap and more natural way of getting rid of ear mites, without using a harsh insecticide. That or olive oil, the Oil suffocates the mite and loosens the dirt. Good luck in finding a new room mate.

Found out that it's standard to have crusty nasty stuff after her ear being flushed (which the clinic did before releasing her to me), so I spent some time wiping her ear gently with a tissue and warm water last night. She still scratches at her ear and shakes her head, and all this crusted stuff is dislodging, lol... gross. But nothing left alive in there!

Yeah it will take a week for the cat to stop shaking to dislodge it. It took the cat who adopted us to stop shaking his ears a couple days. He now has healthy pink ears.

Okay so question, to expand on this... it hasn't been afull week yet but now there is some milky stuff sometimes as the brown nasties are cleaned off, and cat seems to be losing her balance now and then. This sounds like an infection to me, so I want to take her to the vet this week. Do yih have any experience with what I'm seeing? :(

          • Link

no experience with that. Yeah A vet would be in order for that, Hopefully it hasn't damaged the kitty's equilibrium too much, but the vet should have something to help with an infection.

I made an appointment soon after asking you because... if I'm concerned enough to ask friends online... haha. Thank yiu for being so nice and helpful!
