A magazine approached me a few months ago asking me to participate in an article about women in the furry fandom. I was apprehensive and did research on the author and the magazine - when I felt comfortable they sent me questions.
This is the result:

It's truthful and doesn't focus on sex. When I was sent my questions none of them were about sex which made me decide to move forward with answering their questions.
The author was great to work with, her editor abd art director were not but that I suspect was more due to looming deadlines than anything else.
Lesson being look into the publication, look into the author, ask for a copy of the questions before agreeing to participate. :)
Good thing you've checked up on the author and magazine. I've only read most of it, but it seemed fair friendly for the general audience. Good to show the good influence of the fandom.

I really enjoyed reading this article ^_^ Something nice and positive for once, haha, or at least what I've came across so far.
