A small Anecdote on Weasyl's potential. by LudoCrow

Here's a small anecdote I was posting to a friend this morning, which has grown to sum up a lot of my thoughts on Weasyl

[14:40:33] Ludovic: http://zabo23.deviantart.com/art/We-require-more-Overlords-417741428
[14:41:06] Ludovic: the work of a RL friend whom I showed Weasyl to yesterday and basically went
"The new submission page is so much fucking better than Deviantart's !"
[14:41:55] Ludovic: (which is adding furthermore to how much I'm finding Weasyl is starting to have an appeal not just within the furry community... but well outside of it as the friend is very much not a furry herself)
[14:42:48] Ludovic: (I know nothing is set in stone..... but with how everyone is "This is the furry site that will unseat furaffinity!" I cannot help but find ironic if this ever become instead "This is the site created and populated by furries that put a dent in the giant that Deviantart was" )
[14:44:32] Ludovic: Because, let's admit it.... if something like -that- ever came to pass, that would be quite the source of a "badass boast" for the community.

A small Anecdote on Weasyl's potential.

The real boasting point will be if the site can maintain this current level of good attitude and respect. It would be great if this place doesn't become a victim of it's own success over time(ie. attracts people that are a negative force, in number that can't be moderated).

That's a good counterpoint. For now though I like how it's always been very mature and friendly folks making the jump here from both Deviantart and Furaffinity(or, for what matter, just about anywhere else).

I concur! Thank you for level headed comments on FA, i was the reason I peeked at your folio and started watching you (as your artwork is impressive and you have an attitude to match :D )

Weasyl has some things that should be good going forward, especially in the rules.

Do you think other sites not to be named here would say this?

Staff are required to remain professional when dealing with issues publicly on the site as well as other sites. This means that staff should not harass or defame other sites while being associated with Weasyl, as well as not deriding aspects of Weasyl itself. If a staff member has issues with a policy or aspect of the site, they are asked to handle the issue privately in staff areas.

Cheers, to having more love for the weasyl community. Let's stick about and help it grow!
