Serious art question. COLORED PENCILS! by Mazz

http://24.media.tumblr.com/9e490c02d789ce09e0276b4909c616f4/tumblr_mztl8dsCdB1rldi09o1_1280.jpg

I miss when Prismacolor pencils were still quality, back when they were Berol Prismacolor. Ever since they became Prismacolor Premier the leads break easier, they have this weird curve to them now.

Just… I miss the old ones and I’m tempted to switch to a new brand of pencils if anyone has suggestions.

    I know what you mean. Mine break ALL THE TIME and it infuriates me. :(

    I have been given some suggestions but I have to dig up my old FA journals to find the right comment from another user.

    I still have an unsharped giant box of Prismas from the early 2000s. They're me treasures.

    I never had prismas that weren't broken at all 0-0 it was aggravating at the least.

    Derwent color pencils and Sargent ones are good and not too expensive either

    Ugh I'm trying to find a new brand too- after seeing that post awhile back- cause I thought it was just me ;_;

      I know I sat there thinking they were getting shittier than more and more people confirmed my suspicions.

    Personally, Derwent are my favourite brand. The leads are quite waxy so they're not as brittle as prismas. They're also much brighter than prismas! Prismas are more expensive for me because I'm Australian (and they're less available here), so I can't say if Derwent will be cheaper for you or not.

    I haven't touched colored pencils in such a long time I wouldn't know o.o; I still have a great big bag full of old school Prismas

    I switched to these a few years back and they are the best pencils I've ever used never break blend extremly well and don't break the bank http://www.ryman.co.uk/1450232530/Staedtler-Ergosoft-Colouring-Pencils-Pack-of-24/Product
