Oh gosh, thank you! I always felt kind of shy interacting online especially at FA, like I thought I should be aloof, but at Weasyl I just feel more enthusiastic about jumping in when I can and meeting people!

Same, I had tried to leave FA before but the community wasn't here. I had become quite there because people never seemed to chat but with only a fraction of my followers coming to Weasyl it seems like they are the ones more interested in my work anyway.

I think you're right about followers that are more dedicated... after all, I don't think the random dudes who were snarky about me leaving FA were likely to contribute much :p

One of the reasons I followed you on FA were your Byzantine badges. To this day I am still enamored by them and was more than happy to follow you here for more amazingness.

I was very upset to find out one of the artists I admired wasn't even paid for the work you did. Worse off being lied to by the owner about this issue. I didn't know and was part of staff.
This place is less toxic and I am glad we have good alternatives and good people running it here.

Eurgh. It just... has been something that's bothered me for a while. I'd be really firm and deliberate in my no-nonsense 'take no shit' artist advice to others, I work a damn art job!.... and yet, I couldn't even be strong enough to stand up for myself about FA using my work without permission and ripping off everybody who involved themselves in that contest. Just, wow, how awful. I'm glad I finally brought it up publically (in small part) because I realize it's just a serious representation of how the site tends to act. I know there are staff like you who didn't know about this stuff, just as they aren't involved in whatever new flavor-of-the-month fiasco going down over there... so that's another reason I didn't want to lash out at the time. :<
