    I have reacted to this latest kerfuffle with bemusement and incredulity at how someone could be so clueless. How many websites have come and gone, whose sole purpose was to provide an alternative to FA's bullshit?

    I am just glad that, whatever happens, the internet's supply of busty malevolent jaql beasts shall not perish from the earth

      i dont know that this is going to topple FA but i think it is much bigger than dragoneer seems to realize - most of these migration attempts go nowhere because not enough people participate but i am seeing tons of people i know getting accounts here this time - during these other controversies most everyone i know was relatively indifferent

      i am more curious to know if weasyl is actually prepared for a major influx of users if there is one - unless they were wildly optimistic during their setup i tend to doubt it

        I am getting a whole lot more 503 errors, so probably not. Weasyl tends to have spurts of activity, why not have an account here just in case? I think Inkbunny and SoFurry are technically better sites, but the userbase (the former), and the design (the latter), keep them from being mainstays. Weasyl occupies the middle ground between all of them, although I would like some better submission inbox management.

          Actually, a lot of the errors had nothing to do with the new amount of users, but DDOS attacks directed at the site. It's pretty much documented here:

          Also, god do I find this status page sexy as all hell compared to all the other sites I've been on(not just FA)

        I don't know so much, but I've seen a lot of users basically migrate the entirety of their FA galleries using automated tools and the site has been holding up pretty decently despite the lack of the presence of a "flood protection" feature.
        The only time it really went down at all was when still unknown parties directed DDOS attacks at the site.
