just recently saw this x wx ahnn! i hope they have enough hands to help them out to stop the attack.
%20benanderson can correct me if this is the wrong analogy, but a DDoS attack is kind of like if you faxed a bunch of completely black pages to an office in an attempt to make them run out of ink for the fax machine so they can't use it. Same idea here, someone is artificially sending a bunch of requests to Weasyl all at once in an effort to overload it so much it no longer loads, therefore people can't use it.
The reason why it is a rather interesting coincidence in particular, is because DDoS attacks are infamous for being simple and easy enough for people to execute that it's often considered obvious that a competitor of the attacked website was responsible for the attack.
kljosiaw okay i understand now thank you so much .//w. fff man frowny face its.. nuts how soemone would attack like weasyl didn't do anything, but thank you for clearing that up for me X//d
Well, because the main intention of a DDoS is to make the website unavailable to others, it's often used as a weapon between two competing websites, thus it's generally regarded that when a DDoS attack happens the culprits are rather obvious.
I'm not saying someone from FA did it, but...well...it doesn't look good.

DDoS attacks aren't complicated things. A few tweaks and everything will be right as rain.
