Guys! If you're pretty ancient on the internet too then you're bound to remember the old youtube right? :D Well! I just discovered a video site that's just like the old youtube! ^-^ back when it use to be good ^w^ It's called VidLii https://www.vidlii.com/ So if you miss the good old layouts of youtube, or you're new to the internet and would like to experience the good old times, maybe VidLii might be for you :3 You can definitely tell the old channels of YouTube are clearly superior to the ones we got now! Much more colourful UwU My only worry is, is the lack of security and privacy options on there. I just hope the site is well moderated. Then again, I'm still extremely new there so there isn't alot I know about either. Hope it's good tho! It seems some old videos like McRoll'd and youtube poops have made it onto there aswell :3
Update 28/04/2023: Don't think it's furry safe actually, might be better just to browse on there instead of uploading and communications :<

Ooooh, VidLii! I used to be on there but I deleted my account because there was too much troll content, meme content and just...Not really the right type of crowd for me personally. I also avoided posting furry content there for this reason. Simply because it didn't feel like the right platform to do so especially with the type of crowd on there. That said, there were also some really nice folks I met there but they probably were unaware that I was a fur. Unsure but either way, it just doesn't feel like the right type of site for furries so be careful on there! Maybe things changed, and if they did, then that's good! This would be the only time where I didn't feel comfortable enough to post furry content lol! XD
But in all honesty, don't let my one experience ruin it for you or others though! I wanted to be on there to see how old YouTube was like, as I never got to experience that personally and while I really liked the layout and the site itself, it lacks account security and staying on there just wasn't worth it for my mental health. /gen

While I don't mind non offensive ytps and memes, I can see what you mean. I tried to search up furries and animation memes on there and unlike youtube and vimeo, it mainly showed hate content. rarely there is actual furry and animation content, but most of the results had alot of trolling and harassment against animators and furries :< I think I'll just browse on there and not bother uploading or interacting with anyone, I was hoping it would be more like the old youtube that way but I'm afraid the community doesn't seem to make it like the good old days either :c
Think I'll just stick to youtube and vimeo thanks. /nay Vimeo especially, since I hear they focus on artists like us especially. would be nice to see more animators and furry content on vimeo too :3 I think since it's a smaller site, there might be less discrimination and harassment going on. not sure, but I've used vimeo before and had no problems whatsoever. I only got banned when I first joined, but that was an error, they mistakened me for spamming when I was uploading multiple videos ^-^; dw it's all sorted now tho! you also don't have to worry about copyright much or anything like that UwU I should try using it more!
You're quite right on keeping safe! I honestly feel the same way, that's why I've changed my profile and removed anything that mentions me being a furry, fursuiter, and fursuit maker. might not be enough, but it should help ÚwÙ don't wanna risk more bullying, dealt with enough of that already. not on vidlii but other places. I don't blame you for feeling uncomfortable tho, I honestly feel the same way. and yeahh I noticed it lacked privacy and security too, there isn't even 2fa or a way to turn off comments and pms either, which is worrying too

I see! I guess my claims about it being toxic on there and a rather unpleasant place for actual furries is backed up because I didn't know there was actual trolling and harassment against us folks on there since like I said, I haven't been on VidLii in ages and am glad I left now that you've backed up my claims! I guess the place didn't change much after all ;-; I have heard about Vimeo but never knew what it was actually like! Now that you've mentioned it, I may have to take a full look some day! Thanks! ^w^
I'm glad to hear you've taken extra steps to keep yourself as safe as possible by removing any mentions of you being a furry! Of course, if someone recognizes you from elsewhere, then it's probably a different story but yeah, the fact it lacks 2FA or basic privacy features such as being able to disable comments or DMs is indeed very worrying! I suppose the old YouTube back in the day may not have had that either but still! When it comes to safety and privacy, I think it's mandatory to make some changes to your systems to keep your members as safe as possible! I mean, disabling DMs or comments doesn't affect the old YouTube looks VidLii has in any way, shape or form so it makes no sense for them not to have extra security and basic safety and privacy features imo!

yeah vimeo's nice ^-^ it seems very art focused so i'm sure it'll support artists like us ^w^ furries are often artists too, especially with their fursuit making, so i'm sure it'll be more furry friendly there aswell :3 i also don't think they know about furries much, almost like the kind of people who don't know what a furry is. and when it comes to art, it tends to be more like boring museums, statues, paintings, realisms, and mona lisas, but dw there are some modern artists on there too :3 i searched animation memes and found a few :D
it should hopefully be more furry safe than the other two! seems like a smaller community aswell. i hope vimeo will be okay with me using songs for my speedpaints and animations, they don't seem too strict like the other 2 and i've had no problems with copyright whatsoever. here's my vimeo if you're interested!
yeahh it seems it's not only nostalgic like the old youtube, but is also unimproved like the old. it lacks the privacy and security we have today :< i totally agree with you tho! i'm sure it's not hard to add a few things to the old layout and decorate it so it goes well with their theme
