Because sadly it needs to be said by Darkness Falls

I've seen several people on Twitter saying that their art has been taken without their permission and used for NFTs.

I'm the first to admit, I don't understand how NFTs are supposed to work. Like, sure, you pay some guy on the internet an absurd amount of money for an ugly-ass monkey picture or whatever. You get your name listed as its owner somewhere on the blockchain. But you don't own the picture itself, and you can't control its distribution. Everyone else can still see the picture and right-click-Save it. How do you leverage your record of ownership into profit? Sure, you could sell it for more than you paid, but what movie company's gonna come along and say "out of all the ugly-ass monkey avatars we've seen today, THIS is the one we need for out next big hit! Here, have a million dollars!"? It's not even like coin collecting, where you only need the one picture of the special gold monkey to complete your set, because each picture is unique and no-one can collect them all. So I don't get it.

But I object to other people saying they own my stuff. I own my stuff; no blockchain token will ever take that away.

For the avoidance of all doubt, therefore, I expressly DO NOT permit any of my art to be used in the creation of any NFTs, cryptocurrency, or any other blockchain-based technology. If you want a copy of something I made, just right-click-Save it like everyone else does. If you'd like me to make something for you, and my brain isn't too fried to accept commissions, just come and talk to me, and we'll work something out. But don't make some BS claim to ownership and sell it from under me; that's pathetic, and arguably fraud, since you don't have the right to sell it.

TL:DR - NFTs = No Fuckin' Thanks.
