Settling Down by Nagi

Well things are starting to slow down for me. I have been living in my new place for almost 2 month and I've established myself my dominance in the hierarchy. The Spring Quarter is more than halfway over and I haven't gotten a good handle on my professors' expectations and getting my lagging grades up to part. I've also finally gotten back on some medication after being without it for a month. Overall I'm starting to feel a little better.

I've got a tail being made for me that should be done in the next few weeks and once that gets to me I am planning to start attending more fur meets. I know it's really silly to let things like clothes and accessories make or break how I socialize, but I know I feel a lot more sauve when I'm struting around with my tail. In turn, I feel a lot easier handling uncomfortable social gatherings. Hopefully once I start getting back at the meets I'll have a chance to make more friends and get my name more publicized. In between meets I've been getting up Magic events again at the local stores and that's always fun.

To help out with the chance of making new friends I'm also finally gonna take the time to make my page here on Weasyl more current. So here's to better days....Aroooooou!

Sounds great! Regarding the tail, I know how you feel. Having one is sort of a mental device to change how you see yourself, from "New person at a furmeet" to "New furry at a furmeet". To go for something a bit new makes being outgoing that bit easier.

    Good luck!

Being unknown and seemingly new isn't a bother, but you do have a point. Having a tail does help establish myself as having commonality with those around me. I tend to treat people more like non-human animals when I'm dressed as one, than I am when I'm dressed conventionally. I suppose I hadn't taken that into consideration until now.

I can totally understand, hope everything will work out for you the way you are imagining it, Nagi.

Thanks, I appreciate it Sivel. Social crowds have been tough for me in the past, but I aim to fix that.
