Is it just me, or are most FA users... by Flynn
Ignorant as a fucking box of rocks? I'm running into people who actually support discrimination, and think it's okay! Seriously! People who think it's fine for those who are popular or talented to single out specific genders or orientations and bash or exclude them.
Is this really what it's come to? Is this why so many left FA? Have I just been unaware of how awful that place is?
Please, if anyone has an opinion or an experience to relate, I'd love to hear it. :/

I just find that place to be full of injustice. I'm planning to leave FA. I don't know when, but I am leaving.

Scum bags come in all shapes and sizes. However, people tend to think something is OK, if their parents told them it was. We learn our morals from our parents, or lack thereof. Some people can be helped, some can't. It's all about the approach. You either lend a hand in changing their mind(s), or move on to something better.
I happen to agree though, there's a lot of bad apples on FA. However, this is the internet. They're everywhere.

Very true, though I've found a...disproportionate number of them on FA, and that's the last thing I'd expect from furries.
It's amazing how much carnage can come out of saying "all discrimination is bad and I support laws that end it".

The unfortunate truth about the internet is, it empowers people to be who they want, with out consequence. This transfers over into how they interact with, and deal with people. We've actually become a society of Sociopaths. We're either too numbed to the world via mass media, or we're of the pussified generation that gets triggered. I'm sure all things will normalize again around the year 2020. Memes are on the way out, Emo music is almost finally dead, being edgy is on the way out, being dank is becoming meaningless. You get my point. The 2010's were a childish time, and it's becoming apparent with our choices for US President.

What you're describing (late as this comment is) sounds like typical "Popularity Equals Immunity". And that is a thing I've noticed on FA, users who drive enough traffic to the site tend to be able to harass others freely at minimum, if they so desire, and Neer/IMVU won't dare raise a finger at what keeps people coming to the site.

Forgive me for posting so late on a journal fairly old by this point, but I think it bears saying: whatever cannot be done to change that can be compensated for by doing what is right. Call fiends what they are by name, and strive to create a positive space that can constructively fight against discrimination and hatred.
You are never alone in this, for it is a good fight, the best one worth fighting I believe.

I see this on more than just FA. Twitter, Tumblr… Hell, I ran into them here in the past. If it has a community, it'll likely have these kinds of people. You really can't get away from them, sadly. :/
