Potentially leaving FA by Aimee Sim
Hello. I know I don't have as much of a following on here but due to the recent hacking of furaffinity.net I am now going to be more active on Weasyl and try to only open commissions via this website only. If FA gets it's shit togehter I might still advertise on there and once I have finished my current contract with people I will disable my note system there also. My trust in FA has finally gone.
FA is the place I am most recognized and where I am able to make a living off of my art work. Unfortunately selling my art work is the only income that I have to feed myself, pay bills and afford my rent. I am anxious about what might happen this summer so offering commissions here and possibly leaving FA might be a poor decision right now. If you are able to share and recommend people to my webpages or commission me I'd be very thankful.
Please note that I do have a waiting list on my Trello ( https://trello.com/b/q4Yle5ek/commissions ) and that I am a full time student up until June therefore please allow me 30 business working days to complete your image. I am able to work pretty fast though and get peoples images done within a week.
I will be making another journal advertising commissions.

Yes possible but the problem is my fan base or clients are on FA more than any other website. I want to be able to get business directly from Weasyl first.

Some of my artist friends tried to make a go with commissions here in the past, but it wasn't enough. They've moved on to Twitter (of all places) and have plenty of commission work. Best of luck with your attempt here.

Thank you. Over the summer once I've finished university I can see myself trying to get business on all of the websites and see which one works best for me.

You're not the only one for the sake of better security, to move here as well. I got zero trust in FA because of this hacking situation.
I'm surprised there isn't a mass exodus going on again.If FA truly hit the skids, I'm moving here most likely and no other furry site - not even furrynetwork Beta as one of my friends did.
This site is like the old DA I know as well as has everything FA promised before the introduced them. I like the gallery folder system here better than FA's anyway.
In the end, as much as I like the fandom, I'm starting to despise it even though I love drawing anthro characters.-
I am surprised people are still willing to use fa. I intend to advertise but I refuse to sell my work there. It will be rough to start out again but hopefully better in the long run :c

Same here. You would think FA is supposed to have some better security after all the site attacks and such in the past and with this year old merge with IMVU, what's improved?
I think a lot of artists are going to wake up and make a choice to stay or move off of FA if shit isn't fixed promptly.
They should think 'Is it truly worth sticking around?' after what's happening.-
In my experience, there are bursts. Each burst hurts FA and grows the alternatives. Eventually the balloon will deflate there as the watchers leave and come to where the artists are.

I've been around for a few mass exodus events from FA. One reason I created this account. Several artists came here. Personally, I like Weasyl better than FA. The userpage set up is so much easier to deal with and some features are better integrated.
Though some of the 'changes' that happened here like the google-ripoff thumbnails is a raw spot for me. I hate the new thumbnails.Yet if this new Beta FA becomes actively live, I think that's the lost straw for me. From a simple art site to a more 'social' site setup like Facebook, it's just not why I joined the site in the first place.

I have been told I have amazing patience... but it makes me a bit ill to know that it takes something like this hack to happen before they decide to get with current times to update security. I might leave the site, too.

I hope people start to legit become more active here. And that you can get commissions here and not have to rely on a giant pile of shit that just happens to have people with money on it <.<

I think partly the reason I do not get business on here is because I've never fully committed to this website when I am so readily avalaible over on FA. I'll be changing that and update this website first. The most I can see myself doing is updating my gallery a couple of weeks late and advertising my commissions and direct them to here. I'd hope it would encourage them to be more active on other website too.

Offer both places and only take commissions through email and have a set directory folder that emails for commissions gets filtered into, that is the best option.
