Past: Brachium was constructed cold, but both his spark and frame were somewhat immature for unknown reasons, so he still has a frame upgrade, or 'growing', to do. He was put right into a factory as a messenger, meant to be scurrying up and down all day every day with no end. What kept him from this was his fascination with arms and how they work. Specifically, specialty arms. This was somewhat sparked by the two mechs who took him in and looked after him, as they had very unique arms, with the struts exposed. They'd allow him to tinker with them, and after awhile he started tinkering with his own as well, and teaching himself why certain things worked and why others didn't (and hurt like the dickens).

He eventually started watching the factory's medic, and running errands for her, and she taught him more before she was killed in an accident. When the factory had to close down due to the damage that had been caused to all the machinery, Brachium was turned loose with nothing. He was a very caring soul, however, so he went around helping people with arm maintenance and tweaks, and did repairs for them if they had the materials. In return, he'd take a small amount of energon. This eventually had Corpus take note of him and send Fraxinus to offer him a place among the Corpus Negotiatoribus.

What they didn't tell him was that it wasn't only for helping people. So once he joined, he was stuck, though he refused to do any assassinations.
