Personality: ‘Passionate’ is one way to describe Mae's tendency to display high energy levels and extreme emotions. Perhaps it’s her young age, but she also tends to see things only in terms of black and white. The concept of a ‘middle ground’ or ‘blurred lines’ seems to commonly evade her.

Mae appears to see and consider the world and people around her only as they relate to her. She doesn’t seem to have a very strong grasp on empathy, and can appear rather inconsiderate. She’s also very decisive, and quick to take action. This tends to work both for and against her.

Back Story: Mae was born to strict, Sleeper parents who viewed her 'overactive imagination' as a hindrance; the kind of folks who'd not be adverse to medicating a child for being too 'hyper active'. The fact that Mae's 'imagination' appeared very tangible to her did not help her case.

Her parents simply could not see what she saw, and as she grew more adamant and impudent about discussing the strange things she'd witness, they'd take to punishing her for the mere mention of it.

It wasn't just her parents. Family friends and acquaintances had begun to sing the same tune with her, dismissing the apparitions she saw as subjects of her young imagination, and meeting her frustrated retorts with a chiding wag of the finger.

Mae quickly grew to be very angry and confused, and at the young age of eleven, she ran as far away from her small town home as she could. She soon found herself in Nevers, where she was promptly discovered by a small underground Lucid organization that worked beneath the law to find suitable homes for run away Lucid children. They placed her with a sub-Patriarch named Thomas Bellamy.

Ongoing Story: Mae loves her new home within Never's Inner City. She even loves Tom as her always concerned, but non-confrontational foster father. He lets her get away with far more than he should, and she has no qualms with taking advantage of the man. However, she'll pick a fight with anyone who speaks poorly of him. She finds solace in the fact that he'd probably do the same for her.

During her three years living in Nevers, Mae has developed a troubling prejudice against Sleepers, and to a lesser extent, Dreamers. She'll terrorize them, given the chance, over little more than the fact that they're not Lucid.

Her beloved 'partner in crime', Bao, has been working diligently to navigate Mae away from her toxic mindset towards Sleepers and Dreamers, but to no apparent avail. Only Mae can grapple with her own prejudices, at what ever expense that may come to.
