Summer is such a magical time of year when you're young. School's out and three glorious months stretch ahead of you, waiting to be filled up. For Jen, summer means the beach, sand castles and gallons of ice cream. Well, she's gotta get all that boundless energy from something.

She is. Jen's a really cheerful little pup and going to the beach is one of her favorite things.

I never used to really enjoy the beach all that much. I loved being with my family of course, but sand in your bathing suit, haha... No doubt she'll need a good washing when she gets done!

I've been to a proper beach all of twice in my life, both times in Florida. Both times when I was already an adult. So I suppose that I may have a bit of a romantic view of things. When I was a kid I was mostly taken to various lakes around the state, always as part of a fishing trip with my family. So I never actually got to swim, since we spent all our time either on shore or riding around in someone's boat. From what I do remember of my time on the beach, though, sand does tend to get everywhere so no doubt she'll need a good rinse at least! Lucky for her, her sire has a house that comes with running water. Why, it can even be heated!

Lakes are probably more fun in my view, less people, calmer nature, no jellyfish. ;) Boat rides are fun though. ;)
