You could say this image was three years in the making. I remember first pitching an idea to have Temiree paint Taylor in his unique style, but he was unsure about the tailmaw feature of her character. It took close to two years before he was able to get comfortable enough in his art that he could do the character justice. After approaching him again with an even better idea for her than my previous, two years later, he was finally on board and I entered queue. Eight months later, he began working on the piece and this was the final and ultimate result. Amazing, jaw-dropping and badass. This is Taylor at her best. She is not a fighter as we begin her books, but by the end of her series, she will have taken down grand behemoths of steam and steel. Her rise to being a bonafide superhero is inevitable. I also added in a few minor details of her character that some may not notice until later after her books are released, but I've already planned ahead regarding them based on when this specific scene happens later in her book series!
