Now my Avious species went through a traumatic upgrade, because how they were before didn't seem to work. This is a not colored drawing of my character Velvet who is mischievous, brave, knowing and a dare devil. He is under the category of Avians called the Forest Breed. there are a whole bunch of different Avian breeds: The Saharan, the Russian, the African, the Mountain, the South American, the Tibetan and so on. there are different kinds of Mountain and Forest breeds and each breed has something different for a distinctive feature. like the Russian Avious who has a huge mane of fur around its neck, back and chest much like a lion and the Himalayan Avious only has a collar of fur around its neck. Velvet is a North American Forest Avious with a fan of fur on his neck that he can have stand up on end or lay flat to where you cant tell he has it. they now have feathers... EVERYWHERE. certain breeds will have more rows of feathers on their heads, neck, arms and heals. They are now four limbed; the first pair of 'arms' being their wings and the second pair are their actual arms with the six digit fingered hands like the Kotharus, Akkadius, Searagithius and Othikeetis species. they have feathers that start at the base of the tail and only fan out during flight, i call those 'dock' feathers. they have a feathered tip tail which is long and whip like. they can move swiftly on land and in the air. also their wings are feathered but also dragon like, so half feathered and half bat like wings. of course for a beast to fly correctly and support the wings, you need a rounded chest in which the Avious does have.
so they went through a huge change and im creating hybrids of these guys and the other species now. the Avious have become a part of the odd Bolf family tree, now brothers with the Kotharus, Akkadius. Searagithius, and the Oyhikeetis. so far the hybrid i have currently is called the Night Hunter, a hybrid of all five of the species.
