She once got many travellers. Adventures they would call themselves. Fighters of the dark and depraved. She felt pity for them. Felt sad for their deaths, responsible for it. So she started helping them. At first, she gave them a lot of her power. Some started abusing it. They became what they sought to destroy. So she started to test them. Mazes, challenges, quests, and whatever else she felt needed to see if they were pure of heart. But over time her power started to wane. She was giving away too much. Her sanctuary was falling apart, her power losing its light. So in her last moments, she made one final gift. One that would last forever, unlike the previous ones. Just one final trial to set up.
