Twin Blade - Story of Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl by Yoik

Twin Blade - Story of Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl

Yoik

Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl travelted to Mictlan to gather the bones of an extinct race. Using the remains Quetzalcoatl breathed new life into them and inhabited the world we know with new life. Xolotl is associated with illness and deformity. He is often depicted as a dog with open sores and ragged ears. To this day dogs are believed to be the link between our world and the next. Able to clearly navigate between worlds, often when someone dies a dog is sacrificed and laid to rest with it's owner to help guide them to to afterlife.

Xolotl's symbol is the ehecailacacozcatl, a sliced conch shell associated with wind. Xolotl and the wind jewel are etched onto a coyote jaw, and Quetzalcoatl is carved on the "blade" which is a carved horn. This is wrapped together using artificial sinew.
