For those of you who haven't been with Pokémon franchise since it's conception, let me tell you a story.

1998. Christmas morning. Nervously waiting on the stairs at about 6AM waiting for your parents to wake up.
      Slowly the house wakes. They grab their dressing gowns and shamble downstairs. Santa's been. Present Time.

You and your brother unwrap the greatest gift imaginable: A copy of Pokémon for your Gameboy.

So far all you've had is the pack-in game of Tetris, and the so-so Super Mario land.

Here was something you'd seen plastered EVERYWHERE. Substantial. 150 monsters to collect and battle. AWESOME.

The only way it could be better would be if it were 3D or if they were real.

You play it as often as you can. Sullenly picking through your Christmas meals after Mum forces you off it to eat. Jumping back on straight afterwards. The pinnacle of your childhood memories.

Flash forward. Year after year goes by. You get older.

Console after console passes - N64, Gamecube, Wii - and none of them brought us the seemingly obvious 3D Pokemon RPG that everyone wanted.

We got knock offs such as the Pokémon XD and Stadium games, but still no real 3D RPG.

And now, more than 15 years later...

October is going to roll around...

I'm going to open the packaging...

Plug in the cartridge...

And it can be Christmas '98 again.
