Flighty Heights by Woofle

Flighty Heights

Another commission, this one from March of 2012!
This is actually the theme for a comic the commissioner is working on. It also was a chance for me to stretch my R&B/Funk/90s muscles, which at the time were severely under-worked, so I'm always thankful for this one! It got me back on track in a genre that's very fun to work in. :D
This actually was one of my favorite commissioned works ever! :3

Very nice bowed instrument sound (cello ?)
The chords on background have a very interenting sound to them
    ~45 naiss !
I like the percussion that is going on
~2:24 naiss fake whistle sound (vibrato gives the fake quality to it)
Very "acoustic" sounding overall, apart from some stuff. Very cool haha
The bass should have been more prominent, it is total awesome.
    And it ended.

      Yeap yeap, cello! :D
The background chords are lightly distorted guitar layered over reverbed/chorused piano. xD It makes things very unique for sure.
The breakdown at '00'45 ended up launching me off into FUNKYLAND. xD It took a while to get there, but suddenly, POW, funkland!
I might have opted for a harder hitting bass were I to redo this now, although the wood bass I used certainly rumbles the headphones I used. It doesn't quite have the right attack for me though, listening back to it now. XD Ah well, it still sounds pretty good!
