Night Dance (critique requested)

Wolven-Sister

Here rests a tree, a tree that would glow on the most ominous nights. It lied in a small pond. Many flocked to it, transfixed on the tree in awe as it would bring the water to life. The flowers that grew in the thousands would radiate a warm light, all who stood within the glow's reach would be cleansed from the gloom that weighed them down each day. However as time passed, they began to forget about the tree and the dreams it would share. This did not waver the brilliance of it's light, alone in it's hidden corner of the world, it continues to glow and dance with the water, and for those lucky enough to see it will feel the urge to join it's dance.

Random text above is random. I'm way behind on finishing my comic, but an image of this scenery popped in my head at 2am and I had to get it out lolz I finihsed this over the course of 3 days, but it was probably only 4 hours total.
Almost all of this turned out exactly what I wanted, except for the pond, for some reason I have such a trouble of a time with water. If anyone has any tips on how to make water look smoother I would really appreciate it!!

Hope you guys like it c:

Smooth water tends to look like just one solid color with a reflection of the scenery close to it. (reflection should be a slightly darker than original with a faint blueish tint to it).

this is beautiful, the tree, the idea behind the tree, and the random text paints a lovely picture all in together.

O.o This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the detail of the leaves on the tree, the subtle and yet bright glows all around it, and even getting the grass to look detailed without catching every single blade is just flat out awesome!
Although because the water is as reflective as it is, it stands out and makes it look sluggish and almost like swamp-water to not have it reflect as... mirror-like as clear water should. :3 The blue shimmers climbing up the trunk from the water looks amazing though, and maybe a little more leafy accents or reflections beneath those strokes would make the look seem more complete...?

I apologize for my delayed response :c
Thank you! I'm very pleased with how the petals/leaves appeared and they were the funnest to make, along with the trunk and the overgrown pavement c:
Thanks for letting me peek a little bit into your knowledge again! <333 Some tutorials were linked to me on other websites and I hope to experiment (when I have some time x__x ) in the near future XD
