I've had this image in my head for a while now, and since I have to wait to got o the store to get more stuffing for making tails for Unthrocon I figured I might as well finish this sketch up. It's based on the whole Frodo turning into a wraith thing (and I'm just in a creepy/Halloweeny mood ^^).

This is something I've wondered at, at least in the film version of the tale. As Arwen carries a rapidly-diminishing Frodo toward Rivendell on horseback, there's a brief scene in which one of the Nazgul reaches out and almost pulls Frodo away. In that tiny scene, there's something distinctly creepy happening to his face, but it's gone the next time we see. I've always wondered if that was an oversight, or if the implication was supposed to be that the shard of blade in his wound was giving the Nazgul influence over him that got stronger as they got closer to catching him.
Anyway, I love the effect you've got on the wounds - both the wraithly and corporeal versions. It's a very nice touch.
