Pencil-colored sketch that I did for a local comic shop's anime art contest. I opted to go with one of my favorite RWBY character, Pyrrha Nikos, in an imagined scene during the entry exam to Beacon. As all of the potential Huntsmen and Huntresses are being catapulted through the air towards the forest below, they have to come up with a landing strategy to prevent themselves from pancaking on the forest floor; here, Pyrrha is mulling over her options before she finally decided to plow through a couple of trees to slow her descent.

I had planned on waiting until the results were posted, but due to missing a vital piece of info in the contest rules, my entry was preemptively DQ'd; entries had to be drawn on 11" x 17" paper, not the 8.5" x 11" that I used.
