White Elephant Fursuit Head - Finally Complete! (critique requested)

Volt Siano

Managed to finish this all up yesterday, just like I wanted! It was a nice opportunity to binge-watch the whole of PBG's Minecraft Hardcore Season 4.
The trunk fleece was a bit easier than I expected; a bit of tugging was necessary, sure, but it worked out pretty well in the end. And I was even able to make it all one piece! I suppose the worst of what happened yesterday was running out of hot glue sticks and having to go buy more at 9pm (and I only needed one more stick, too!).

I tried painting the eyes this time (instead of drawing them), which I'd say worked out pretty well. Oddly enough, I never ended up poking holes through the paint, as I know to be common. Part of this was due to not having a correctly sized pointy object, part of it was due to the paint peeling away any time I tried punching a decent sized hole, but it was also due to the fact that the wearer's eyes (or my eyes, at least) lay below the painted portion; because of this, the paint doesn't obstruct vision.

It seems traditional to inform people of a suit's specifications, so here we go - this head includes:

  • A foam bucket base
  • Toony, painted eyes
  • A medium-length trunk with ventilation at the end (and at the base)
  • A neck flap, to conceal fleshy human skin
  • Floppy ears!

White elephant! I don't think I've ever seen an elephant fursuit (but I don't get out much). It looks like the trunk makes it forward-heavy, but I suppose the ears kind of balance that out?

Maybe the ears do that. It doesn't feel very front-heavy, but that's just me. Honestly, balance is something I never really thought of - good thing it seems to have worked out anyways!

It looks like it turned out well! :D
