I guess pattern kind of depends on how it hunts. Spots (5) lend themselves to more bottom-foraging hunters, whereas a simple gradient (2 and 6) is better for open ocean. Personally, I like #1 best.

I'm leaning more towards speckled markings since it swims close to the sandy bottom where they hunt for things close to or under the sand.

oh man its so cool to see how this design has been developing! I love the ripple looking effect of #4, it really says "stealthy predator" to me!
