uhhh experimental bust!! this time using more direct screencap referencing of my player character in gw2 so i could see if this was doable for me
kind of a weird feeling for me using these lines, a lot of my line work has developed into the heavy use of line weight and flow as opposed to crisper thin lines, but i suppose it isnt too far away from how i sketch traditionally
oh, thank you! tbh i actually really like thin linework, but its something i tend to leave with my traditional pencil sketches since i use really small leads, usually .5 or .3 mm H hardness. with digital work i have "thicker" brushes that simulate brush pens which is why my digital work tends to have thicker swooping lines. its kind of fun examining that!
also yeah she does look a bit grumpy doesnt she? im betting she just got an assignment in orr
Interesting! I can definitely see that actually, considering what I've seen in your galleries. A fascinating media dichotomy for sure.
Orr. Geh. I'd be making that face too if I was her in that case. I swear I just heard my character Oort grumble in my head at the mention of it, hah.
yeah, its kinda funny, usually i see a lot of thin fine lines with digital art and the heavy lines stay traditional, and yet i seem to have reversed them
i know i make that face. i have an absurdly specific fear of zombies, but only if theyre zombies from underwater. orr was predictably a nightmare for me

I (in my personal opinion) quite like how you handled the lines actually; very organic and natural looking. Line weight is an important consideration that is definitely worth practicing. I myself am still trying to get it down just right. I also love that you used blue tones for this one in particular (but then again I am biased towards blue, so take that as you will!).
Is it just me, or does Falstreig look especially disgruntled or unamused in this picture? Haha.
