in a society such as '20s or '30s american-style gangsters, mind/social- and weapon-related power struggles were what determined who stayed on top most of the time, but if you had an anthro character such as dorothy with his big fuckin hand-tail, that'd totally change things up. his body seems frail but to have a tail like that might be equivalent to being a big bouncer-y guy. it could symbolize people who would be lethal to underestimate.
