While perusing Tumblr last month I came across a photo by Toni Panjaitan. I was immediately struck by the powerful image he created by simply tilting the frame. I wanted to paint that water, those claws, and the fur as well as attempt to evoke that feeling of power and mystery I feel in his work. I asked him for permission to use his photo, which he kindly granted.
