this poor fella needs new name! I have been trying to think of one, but my mind falls short.
I'm glad you noticed the hands, since that's still something I'm trying to work on. I'm thinking the problem is I get extremely focused on the hands and I don't realize until I look up at the whole picture that they're out of proportion. I've heard of the line of action, but I didn't use it in these poses mostly because I use this as a reference only, but I'm trying to get used to combining both looking at photos of poses and lines of action, but thank you for taking time to help!

There is a certain 'stiffness' to this character's body and joints. Something that can help is what artist's call a 'line of action' (You can look this up with Google images). Before composing a figure it is best to draw these curves. They help you better align your character into correct posture and can be used as a guide to place the torso, legs or arms. Imagine that this line is like a wire bending through the center of the character. With this as a base, you can work the muscles, limbs and joints around it!
Also, another small detail... His hands need to be a little larger. You did get the spacing correct, though! The tips of fingers should end about mid-thigh, so you have that part down. Look at human figures in similar positions to help!
I hope this helps! :)
