Demon Dance by TristanAlexander (critique requested)

Demon Dance (critique requested)

TristanAlexander

I have learned that if I don't let my muse play when he wants, I can't get anything done that I need to do! SO, here is a fun, just cause it hit me picture done to fit in one of the more interesting frames I have. This is octagonal (the black corners are filler). "Demon Dance" (working title any better ideas will be considered) it is 8 1/2 x 15, Acrylic and Pro White on Canson board. Original and prints for sale.

Yep, that's pretty much how I am too; I've found that I have to multitask between commissioned and personal art to get anything done, otherwise I lock up. I love the movement in this and his strange, abstract markings really complement the whole piece; reminds me of certain kinds of stones, or even splashes of ink.

I love the white swirls in the background, they are so very crisp looking as well as his blue markings/tattoos. Very nice work :)

Thanks! The white swirls are done with ProWhite an opaque white watercolor that covers almost anything realy well! And you can't realy tell, but the background has 3 shades of yellow.

Thank you, for telling me I think I shall have to pick some up. I haven't been happy with what I use for opaque white highlights.

Yellow is always a pain to scan, I just picked up a new scanner since I was so unhappy with my previous ones inability to pick up yellow shades.
