Black and Silver Mink Skull Jewelry Set by TheSilverCaribou

Black and Silver Mink Skull Jewelry Set

TheSilverCaribou

Here we have a show-stopping jewelry set that employs a beetle-cleaned American Mink skull, lots of bright silver, sparkling Swarovski crystals, starling feathers and earrings made with the skull’s own jawbones.

The skull has been beetle-cleaned, preserved and dried by me with all teeth intact. I enameled it (and the jawbones) with deep, rich black and finished it with a high gloss acrylic for a stunning shine. Nine tiny white Swavorski crystals accent the skull along with plenty of silver; silver links adorned with tiny pure sterling silver beads dangle from the attachment points for the necklace chain and silver wire has been used to attach the black starling feathers that hang from both the earrings and the skull’s orbital sockets. The chain is 16 inches (closing clasp) and is included with the skull and earrings. It is attached to the skull at two points on each side for balance. *There are two tiny rings on the chain that allow you to wear the skull higher if you like, like a choker. The photo shows it worn at the lowest point.

The lower jaw was halved and used to create a pair of matching earrings that boast their own set of feathers and a single white crystal each. They are included with the necklace as a set. These require pierced ears and are nickel free.

Photos do this set no justice, it is gorgeous! (if it’s not too cocky of me to say so, haha.)

The skull itself measures 3 inches if you do not count the feathers; if you do count the feathers it comes in at just under 5 inches.

Note: the skull was a wild-found salvage in Big Bear, Ca - the mink was NOT from a fur farm and died of natural causes (that natural cause likely being a hungry bobcat!)
