This pretty 19 inch tail is a wild find from Santa Catalina Island and was presumed to be a hawk kill - a very fresh find (hours old, really) but only the tail was really salvageable along with the teeth, leg bones, claws, some other fur scraps and some tendon. A very handsome tail, just the same. The colors are reminiscent of slate blue-gray with a strip of light, buttery caramel running around it, and a creamy white tip to boot. Island foxes are typically more reddish underneath, with the lighter golden color seen here being one of the variations in the species.

This tail has been de-boned, tanned and groomed to soft fluff by me. A metal snapclip has been sewn into the top for hanging, wearing or attaching to a cosplay costume. No odor or hair slip!

A double strand of beads has been sewn into the tail along with double large feathers. On the bead strands you'll find North American Porcupine quill pieces, silver and natural mottled indian jade beads. Tipping one bead strand is a large white-gray agate arrowhead; hand-knapped by me and wrapped in sterling silver wire. The other stand is tipped with a pristine white fox tooth from the same animal that provided the the tail. Both the arrowhead and the eyetooth have been given a glossy sealant to beautify and protect.

The feathers are Blue Slate turkey and Cinnamon/Bourbon turkey. The spines of the feathers have been dotted with green enamel paint that compliments the gentle green of the jade beads.

**As a bonus this tail includes a silver and jade earcuff that matches the tail's color scheme! The ear cuff also displays another fox tooth - also from the same fox that provided the tail. A photo of the earcuff is available on request. :) The cuff does not require a pierced ear and is nickel free.
