Big Doodles, Big Dumps and Big Rambles

TheShaggyDragon

Ahem by dump i do not mean shit don't worry i am not shitting on your table
anywho

So most of these drawing are drawn on a Canvas resolution that is roughly 2 and a half times bigger than what i normally draw on, idea is to get some more detail in there, not sure if i hit it up here but regardless as always
Left to right and top to bottom

A drek fighter who has had some access to a Human Printer. A friend on the DragonScape discord was asking about human gear and drekir so after a lengthy explanation i drew this to give an idea. This drek is using kinda the typical human printer drop setup. A 3D printed carbine that fires caseless ammunition from those tubes, and a simple vest that has a polymer based ballistic armor and some room for extra clips.
This gear isn't military grade by far, it's essentially the equivalent of civilian weapons that are cheaper to print, so humans set printers up with these as its just more economical. Additionally most printers aren't really used for printing nothing but weapons, but often are more used to print building walls, parts that can be assembled into functioning solar panels, radios, TVs, etc. and polymer hand tools like saws and hammers that don't last too long but are still handy.
The most popular products that make it further inland are electronics and solar panels, those are far more useful than a gun that you don't have ammo for. But printer guns are way more popular on the coasts where human drone drops (and later colonization) are far more common, they struggle with VerdaStal but not every person is walking around in a heavy teal suit, so an automatic gun that you can basically get with little effort from you is pretty awesome and many militia forces, cults, and other groups of surviving drekir utilize these in their fights and daily lives.

A drek hunter further inland who is no doubt upset about something.
I am wanting things like VerdaStal guns and drekir clothing to have a more 'post apocalyptic feel' to them. Granted post apocalyptic clothes is easy enough, its the bare minimum and crude so i just wanted start by applying that to this dreks VerdaStal musket, giving it that neato pipe stock. But to talk about the use of these fancy guns in everyday villager usage.
They aren't usually used to their full extent, most drekir don't often load them with VerdaStal shots, more often just normal lead balls, shots, bullets etc. and the reason for that is strictly economical, VerdaStal is tricky to cast into a ball and as such teal smiths charge a high price for VerdaStal bullets. Your average hunter doesn't need armor piercing shots for their daily business anyways as deer don't wear armor. so lead does fine.
Another note is that often Teal-Smiths who make gun barrels, smoothbore or rifle, probably would often just sell gun barrels rather than a full stock of completed firearms. The reason for this is it's cheaper for customers to buy and trade for, and then it saves the smith work as now the job of making the barrel into part of a functional gun is up to the buyer and not the teal smith, who is probably busy making really high quality VerdaStal guns that they will complete and sell themselves.

Un Pajaro trying to repair a human printed radio. These things are pretty popular and get around to a lot of places in the dragonscape, it's just simpler to trade with a drek pedeling this thing than trying to repair the scraps of what was once a radio 48 years ago. they still have problems sure but it's easier to repair them, as well as connect them to local broadcasts. Radios are useful in a lot of ways of course, Communicating with other towns for example, broadcasting entertainment to keep drekir happy and morale high, and to help organize the goings on of a village. Radios are really useful and i would count on human radios popping up deeper and deeper inland overtime as drekir take that utility off the coasts.

The center drekir are one picture, the swordrake and the wyvern spewing some sort of magical goop, probably some acid.
Drekir who are fighting with melee weapons, swords, spears, axes, maces, etc. etc. often have one of two jobs in a given fight if one's local neighbors decide to loot and pillage your town.
either to protect the fighters with you who have guns, bows, crossbows, magic or explosives and just let them do their thing to win the fight, keeping enemies away from them
or to bumrush the enemies ranged fighters, who probably won't be super well equipped to handle an angry axe swinging dragon who is in their face. either or melee fighters tend to be the ones with the most VerdaStal armor in any given group as they often have to eat the most bolts, arrows, bullets or fireballs and having a little extra armor means they can do their job better or easier.

bottom left corner.
A humble potato farmer announcing out that their potatoes are for sale. the translation should be something like:
Over here!
I have potatoes for sale!
simple and straightforward i like this fat tails style

Another hunter with a peculiar weapon in the dragonscape (that is hidden behind the feathers) and that is an airgun! Airguns are a popular option for hunters who don't have the resources or money for black powder or a human caseless firearm. Often scrap built with improvised reservoir tanks from old steel containers laying around. They are pumped with air pressure through a variety of means.
They often have enough power to take down most things, from squirrels to humans and most thing inbetween. These also don't usually have VerdaStal barrels as they aren't mean to be brought into a fight, you can shoot someone and kill them without a big deal but they can't take VerdaStal bullets, which having those is important for any serious fight, especially against the Sivilao
But for hunting and self defense they work great as animals dont wear armor and robbers rarely come at you in a heavy suit. Airguns are somewhat more expensive to buy from a gunsmith that regular guns but often drekir will just scrap them together.

the smaller drawings are for comparison and thats how big i normally draw drekir, gives an idea of how big of a resolution this is.
Some more guards, again shooting for a more postapocalyptic mix into the fantasy, which i feel has been somewhat lost in my recent drawings
Just a belt doodle, most things are mounted on a double belt system with one belt on the 'waist' and another at the base of the tail, but for lighter things one belt works fine, in this case a lil fanny pack and a machete for a villager who is probably gonna do some good ol' garden work.

A dragon cow, i dont have a catchy name for them (yet) but im juggling concepts right now, this is based off of what another guy on the DragonScape discord said, the idea was that milking a cow is like milking the venom from a snake which means you gotta get em to bite a bucket with them bigol fangs. i mean milk is essentially a realy hardcore supercharged source of magic and that sounds suitably dangerous, but im still brainstorming on it so i dont know.

Alrighty Shaggy out!
