Samantha's grandparents immigrated from Brazil to Atlanta, Georgia, making the Amazon Macaw a proud, third-generation American with a deep Southern drawl that's amusing to hear when she's cursing in Portuguese.

Born into a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and brothers, she left at 18 as much to escape the constant chaos as to go to school. Moving to another city, she found she had little interest in school, and dropped out after the first semester. In need of money to make ends meet, she started dancing at the Gilded Cage, making friends with an Egyptian vulture named Anna, and the other girls. Due to her muscular build and flamboyant coloration, Samantha quickly gained her own followers.

After Anna bought out the Gilded Cage, Samantha was one of the first to work for the new madam. She identifies as bisexual, though she prefers the company of women sexually, and has the reputation of a dominant with men. Especially if they're stupid enough to make 'Polly' jokes.

Though single, Samantha has a major crush on one of her fellow ladies, a quiet crow girl paralyzed from the waist down due to a traffic accident. She has no idea the crow girl is also interested in her.
