During his unintended layover in 1960, Clarence and the other cubs in Duran, NM learned to share each other's toys. The girl cubs got to give their dolls rides in the boy cubs' cars and trucks...which might's inspired the Mattel toy company to make cars for their Barbie Dolls.

Also, in the 1980, a rock group called Aqua made a Barbie-themed song called "Barbie Girl". The group was later sued by Mattel for copyright infringement, but the group's manager explained that it was just a conversation piece and had nothing to do with the toy. As a result, the company withdrew the lawsuit, but the aforementioned disclaimer had to be printed on the group's CDs.
