These next two entries in my Valentine's Day series feature some lesser-known 1980s characters called the Hugga Bunch. These childlike characters come from a place called Huggaland, a cushiony-soft and colorful place reached only through mirrors. Their mission was to get everyone in our world to come together through friendship and love, and to embrace each other. Their sacred creed was "Promise to hug at least once a day...With each hug you get, give two away". We could sure use them at this time, what with all the fighting, isolation through pandemics, and depression...and who would be braver to stand up to such things as the Hugga Bunch?
In this first artwork, Hugsy, the sole male member of the bunch and a true ladies man, is embracing Huggins, leader of the bunch. I'll be uploading the second one with the bunch, so stay tuned.
