The story of Balto is a true one, about a wolf-husky hybrid that led a team of huskies through the frozen wastes of Alaska during a snowstorm to deliver much-needed medicine to a plagued village. This heroic act inspired the famous Iditarod dog sled race. I wonder if there were any more dogs like Balto competing in that race?
