Crash landing

This was a commission for Adryx over at fA of their character of the same name who unfortunately had a crash landing on a pile of amalgamate and this was the result. A little story:

Adryx was flying above a more rural region of the area he lived in, taking in the views that spread out below him. It was a nice, slightly overcast, day when he decided to land on top of a curious looking building, in the middle of the wilderness, to rest his wings for a bit. However, as soon as he landed and put his whole weight on the old and creaky building's ceiling, it gave away.

“Shit!” Adryx yelled in surprise as he fell through the apparently thoroughly rusted and rotten roof.

As he fell, his body clanged against pipes, beams and finally, after falling through the wood paneling on the factory floor, he came to rest at the bottom of what seemed to be a cellar of sorts. The fall left his head spinning and body aching.

“Ugh,” he said, rubbing his head. “Stupid roof just had to look stable enough to land on. Hold on a second, why didn’t landing down here hurt?”

Quickly after realizing that he was lying in a puddle of... something, he stood up, some of the liquid he was lying in sticking to his back and hands. However, after trying to take flight out of the cellar, he was promptly stopped by the same tar-like liquid as he was positively stuck in the damned thing. Panic settled in only after he found himself sinking into the seemingly shallow puddle.

“What the hell?” he exclaimed.

Unable to escape or do anything other than struggle he trashed around trying to regain a footing outside of the puddle. Unfortunately, all of it was in vain, as he continued to be swallowed whole by the oil. The dust in the cellar settled for a while as the room became still after Adryx's form had completely vanished into the pool, apart from the tip of his right wing that lay next to the pool, slowly being eaten away by the oil.

However, the silence was short lived as the puddle began to bubble. Shortly after that the back of some foreign alien creature began to rise, the backside of it filled with spikes, the larger ones taking a purple glow as they solidified. Then a pair of arms appeared from the viscous oil that was now stretching upwards as the creature slowly rose from it, it's hands gaining elongated claws as it tore its hands free from the puddle. After that came the feet that were splayed behind the form of the creature, then came the wings, its left wing laying across the puddle as it continued to gain a more solid form. Then finally its head could be seen forming, now it was clear that this alien creature was but an imitation of Adryx's previous form, its horns and scales grown far larger than they should be, other parts somewhat resembling Adryx's, but still clearly different. In a sudden motion it pulled its head backwards and let out a deep. shattering roar, spreading its' wings and arms as much as it could as Adryx was no more and the only thing that remained was the still forming purple creature that now stood in the middle of the cellar where Adryx had fell not too long ago.
