Yet another old piece from 2009. I drew this to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Winter war between the then Soviet Union and Finland in 1939.

Scar as a Finnish Lieutenant on the Finno-Russian border in the late summer of 1939. Taking an angry glimpse across the border towards the increasingly belligerent neighbour state with his KP/-31 Suomi SMG at the ready.

The background forest looks horrible, but I felt like I had to put something back there to boarden the image up. It would also seem that I forgot to draw the Lieutenant's sleeve insignia.

Image dedicated to all those who worked hard, fought and lost their lives in the fateful days of the Winter War from 30 November 1939 to 13 March 1940 in the defence of this country's independence. Because if it wasn't for their sacrifice exactly 70 years ago, an independent Finland might not exist.
