This handsome specimen of a red-shouldered was encountered by yours truly at a local wildlife education center deep in the mountains of North Georgia. Back where I live in the heartland of the Piedmont region of Georgia, filled with rolling hills and many, many miles of pastureland, the red-shouldered hawk (also known as the "swamp hawk as I've heard), is a very common site in lowland forest and sources of water in a woodland environment. I wonder who this hunter is watching?
