Speedpaint for of Nightcrawler from the X-Men. Here he is, resembling his X-Men: Evolution incarnation. He's always been a favorite of mine as well.
Now excuse me while I melt into a puddle of hot artist. Ugh.

Just when I think I've stared at it for long enough and screamed enough about it, I look at it again and just feel that bubbling squeal of joy leap up inside. Your painting and lighting skills have become absolutely PHENOMENAL in the last while, and I just want to keep commissioning you so I can see just how marvelous my ideas end up looking in your style, seriously.
A couple of my favourite parts have to be:
- The slight tinge of yellow-orange just on the corners of his eyes that really make the "glowing" illusion work, without making his eyes look pasted on,
- The hint of sub-surface scattering through his ear,
- How you used a scattered flat marker brush to create a fascinating "wrinkling" around the fabric at his elbow,
- THOSE GODDAMNED BLUE HIGHLIGHTS THROUGH HIS BANGS.
Seeing your stuff developing like this never ceases to amaze me. Keep being awesome, and I can't wait until I get my next painting from you~ <33

I feel like I'm a big phoney when it comes to lighting, actually, since, most of the time, I don't have easy access to such references (or maybe I'm just being ultra picky and unimaginative), so I'm sort of surprised at how many people are saying they love it. lol I think I've just gotten good at colors and perhaps that's all that people really focus on in most cases in regards to lighting. But ANYWAY, not trying to deflect praise or anything, just saying. XD;
I love how you made a bullet point list of what you loved about this piece. I think every time I start having doubts about how much I'm improving I'll have go back and read you comment here. XD
Thank you for always encouraging me and for being such a huge inspiration in all things art (and sometimes just life in general). This looks awesome because YOU are awesome and I'm looking forward to depicting your next idea! :D
