Chapter 20: Moving Again…Sorta; Day 294

At Sector Z, the ship remained dock for its next stop which gave Krystal time to make a call to someone who could be of help to Fox.

The person in question who was called in was someone who a friend from Corneria. Unlike Fox, His rotund friend Heian had lost the battle of obesity LONG before Fox. While he had seemingly reached immobility as well, Heian instead opted to use a different solution…

…a solution Heian had brought to the Lylat Cruiser while they were stopped. The first thing Fox noticed about the solution was how large and round it was, and that Heian had one as well, despite being partially hidden under his own belly. The first thing Heian commented however was Fox’s new size. “I never thought I’d see the Day McCloud. What happened?”

Fox was quick to dismiss the question with a “Look who’s talking. You answer’s likely my answer, now can you just help me out? Krystal’s getting worried I can’t go anywhere.”So Heian revealed the solution he was given, a mobility pod. It was able to do as advertised, which was keeping Fox mobile. A floating Device meant to carry up to 30,000 lbs.

It was admittedly not the most graceful of solutions, since Fox’s already to see feet could be seen at all with this pod, not only that though, he found issues with having to rely on this device to move him, granted he had no regrets about his new weight, he just found this way to be slightly degrading.. Heian’s response was “I know it takes getting used to at first, but it works for both us AND the people around us. Would you rather crack the floor of your own ship or have people think you will even if you COULD move on your own? Now quit complaining and enjoy moving again. The pod will do most of the work without causing earthquakes.”

Fox couldn’t decide which he appreciated less, the mobility pod’s odd set-up or Heian’s bluntness about the whole thing? But for now, he was stuck with it, oddly the only thought he was thinking in the following days though was. “Maybe I can put on enough fat enough to cover this thing up...” A thought he never would have imagined having at the start of the cruise.
