TLL-5 Light Armored Vehicle Family by Svaros

TLL-5 Light Armored Vehicle Family

Svaros

The next generation of light armored vehicles was born out of the desire to create a more ubiquitous and flexible chassis that Marines and Milita could deploy to provide armored support in remote areas or areas where heavier vehicles could not afford to stay. The decision to move to a new generation of the vehicle came from breakthroughs in manufacturing technology, necessitating a total redesign by Imperial Light and Machine Works (ILMW). These new technologies were fast-set carbotanium, a metal-carbon composite material that formed the chassis, and simplified components. Adopting these technologies made a TLL-5 family vehicle almost half the weight and a quarter the manufacturing cost of a TLH-6 family vehicle.

Regardless of variant, the vehicles are powered by 4x 375KW fuel cells, quickly propelling the vehicle up to 100kph in under 10 seconds and onto its maximum speed of 120kph thanks to the eight independent motors powering each wheel. If needed, tracks can be installed over the wheels for rougher terrain. Supplementing mobility is the amphibious nature of the vehicle. Two pumpjets can propel up a TLL vehicle to 25kph in the water, fast enough to cross rivers and secure a beachhead. The crew is three. A driver and vehicle commander, though this may vary based on the variant.

As expected, the armor is good enough to deflect light cannon fire from the front and heavy machine gun fire from the sides and rear. However, it is vulnerable to large caliber rounds and explosives. However, an active protection system is available, capable of independent interception and proximity detection of personnel, projectiles, and objects.

Following the completion of the TLL-5A1 APC chassis, the next step was to create a litany of vehicles that could be field adapted to situations and the needs of field personnel. The APC can host an infantry squad (up to 14 soldiers across four fire teams, plus two leaders). The APC can also be outfitted with stretchers as an armored ambulance. The armament is one 12mm ILMW OWT-1C2 remote-mount machine gun. The crew is two, a driver and a vehicle commander.

Other variants are as follows:

TLL-5V1 IFV- This variant sacrifices six seats for a 36mm autocannon and four light all-purpose missiles in an automated turret. It contains a crew of three.

TLL-5H1 Behemoth Hunter- A cannon-based tank destroyer capable of firing a multitude of hyper-velocity 72mm rounds. No room for other infantry. It contains a crew of three.

TLL-5D1 LAADV- Light Anti-Air Defense Vehicle. A TLL-5 with a mounted anti-air defense turret containing a six-barrel 36mm rotary cannon and four heavy multi-purpose missiles. It contains a crew of three: A driver, a weapons operator, and a vehicle commander.

TLL-5C2 Command- Filled to the brim with tactical analysis equipment capable of acting as a battlefield data fusion server. It contains a crew of 8: Driver, vehicle commander/gunner, operation commander, and five staff.

TLL-5L3 Electronic Warfare- Powerful multispectrum jamming and intelligence gathering system. It has five crew members: A driver, a vehicle commander, and three specialists.

TLL-5E1 Engineering- The most heavily modified variant. Complete with excavation arm and mine clearing dozer blades. It comes complete with a 3D printing workshop and tools to repair vehicles. It has five crew members: A driver, a vehicle commander, and three specialists.

TLL-5M1 Mortar Carrier- Automated, rapid-fire short-range mortar system, capable of putting 144mm mortars very accurately. Range of 10km. It contains a crew of three: A driver, a weapons operator, and a vehicle commander.

TLL-5G1 144mm Self-Propelled Gun- Using a modified TLH-6B tank barrel, this howitzer can place unguided or guided rounds thanks to its smooth bore design and finned rounds with exceptional accuracy at a distance of up to 30km. This variant contains a counter-battery radar system.

TLL-5R1 MLRS- A light MLRS capable of putting a singular ballistic missile, rocket-launched glide bombs, or six cluster or standard rockets on target through a guided or unguided operation. It shares ammunition commonality with the TLH-6R3 "Matias" system and can rapidly be field reloaded in under five minutes.
