Chapter 7: Mountain Battle

After securing 2 pieces of the mystical Estrella Diamond, Aero and Sakura were feeling proud of themselves. When they reported to ACIPD again, they had information about another piece of the diamond.

"This piece of it is in a mountain on the other side of Velbus. Think you can handle flying that far?" the chief asked.

"Sure we can." Aero said. He and Sakura then left.

While flying to the mountain, Sakura wanted to ask Aero something.

"Say Aero, is something bothering you?"

"Yeah, I keep having memories about something involving Vaxtus and this diamond, but I can't seem to access those memories normally. Something's hindering my mind, and I'm not sure what."

"Well, we'll find out what's happening in due time eventually." Sakura said.

Two hours later, our heroes reached the mountain. After skimming the mountain's surface, they couldn't find any traces of the signal on the mountain's exterior.

"The diamond shard could be underground. Let's look for a cave entrance." Aero said. After some more looking, they found the cave entrance.

Inside the cave, they noticed about ten goons in a giant cavern. The cavern was enormous with giant stalactites hanging from the ceiling. Aero saw an opportunity to do something cool. There were ten goons with a giant stalactite above them. If he could hit the stalactite to bring it down on them, that would be sweet.

"Hey Sakura," he said "I'll get rid of them."

"Be careful, Aero." she said.

Aero fired his missiles at the stalactite and brought it down. Two of the goons saw this happen, however, and moved out of the way. The other goons weren't so lucky.

Now with only two goons left, this seemed like a fair fight. Aero and Sakura jumped out at the goons.

"So it was you who destroyed our comrades." they said.
"We jsut cut you down to size." Aero exclaimed.
"Enough. Prepare to be terminated."

A violent fight ensued between our heroes and the goons. The bullets and missiles that were fired hit the cave wall in multiple places. During the fight, an explosion from Aero's missiles caused a rockslide to fall. After the falling rocks took out one of the goons, Aero noticed something glowing in the upper part of the cavern. It was another piece of the diamond.

Determined to get it first, the goon flew upward into the cavern to get it. Sakura told Aero to hold back. The rockslide had almost ended when a giant rock destroyed the remaining goon.

"That should be all of them. Let's get that diamond piece." Aero said.

"Ok" Sakura said.

After flying up to get the diamond, Aero said "That's it. Let's make the long flight back to Atmo City."
