My tablet decided to cooperate a bit after a couple days. The delay is still an issue, but it's not constant for now (still frequent, though). A replacement is on its way.
The delay had also led to the idea of using broken lineart, which spiraled to Zander once I got the sketch going. This eventually had a glitch look for finishing touches, and I love how this turned out.
