Varr the khardaki ship captain has her own way of dealing with intruders and stowaways. The law of the sea (or river) is to throw them overboard. She still does, technically. Once they are properly digested.

In this case she and her halfling crewman are trying to get a little info from the lizard man scout before it all ends in a burp. At least they are up front about what's going to happen whether or not he talks.
