I'm a little late with this here on Weasyl, I think the site was down or something when I went to upload so it got a delayed debut here.

Still, I hope all you dad's out there had a wonderful Father's Day this year!

I was hoping to do something special for my dad this weekend, especially since I'm not with him in person today, and I've had this idea floating around in my head for a LONG time, so I'm really happy to finally get it put down on paper.

This is based on a true story, and while I don't remember it since I suppose I was too little, yes, this did happen to me when I was 3 years old. There's pictures, although I think they're in storage or something now. My dad knows where they're at.

Anyway, little background for ya. I've spent most of my life bass fishing (largemouth bass to be specific) with my dad, ever since I was old enough to hold a rod and reel. Before that I'd at least be in his boat when he'd get home from fishing in the evenings, he used to be a professional bass guide on Toledo Bend Reservoir when I was a kid.

So, the story is that when I caught my first bass, evidently a feisty 3 pounder, it scared the living daylights out of me when the fish jumped out of the water the first time trying to shake the bait loose lol. I didn't want that rod anymore, not while it had that crazy fish on the end of it. Thankfully I didn't throw the rod away, not exactly sure what happened, but I think we got the fish in and that's where the pictures came from.

Here we have lil 3 year old Tala with her daddy surprised to find out exactly what they're doing out there on the lake. Suffice to say Tala's got the classic "DO NOT WANT" look going on.

I hope she turned out okay, I've never tried to draw anthro toddlers before, it was really fun, but I just hope she looks decently close enough to a lil wolf pup.

Also, this may be the only time I draw an anthro with a mustache, but I wanted to try and stay true to my dad's younger self and when I was a kid he had a mustache lol. That's why Tala's daddy has one too!

I'll be finishing this one hopefully not too far off down the road. Had a great time drawing this, listened to just about all the daddy and daddy/daughter songs I have on my iPod while I was working on it. Made me tear up a few times, in a good way. I'll share some below for your Father's Day listening pleasure! Hope ya enjoy them!

Once again Happy Father's Day to all you daddies out there! I hope you get to spend time with your kiddos no matter what their age.
