Chapter 1 the past

I was sliding backwards and my nappy (diaper) was falling off.It stopped and i got up to pull my nappy back up. It was Courage who had pulled me to stop me going in the bad weather.

"You are not going out there. Its too cold and dangerous. You could catch a cold or even die," he said in his thoughts to mine.

"but father might be hurt or in danger. I have to find out what is wrong. I'm so worried," I told him.

"Everyone is. I know how you feel. What if someone sees you are missing. They would think I ate you up or something,"

"I really have to go. I cant stop worrying,"

"If you go. then I guess I will have to come with you then. I can't leave you alone. I'm your guardian. I supposed to protect you,"

"Thanks Courage. I'm sorry,"

"It's ok. Climb on my back and hold on tight"

I climbed on his back and held tight on his neck. He ran out the house as I grabbed on tight. He ran very fast for a lizard. We were both getting wet with the rain and the cold was not much of a bother as we were focused on finding father.
