Christmas Bling! by Spark908

Christmas Bling!

Spark908

Soo I haad bigger plans for making things for Christmas, but, only 1 of 3 projects made it through the pipeline of my adhd brain XD So here is a lil peek at the snowflake pins that I made! I made a procedural generating spirograph that Lets me change the Amount of circles that are included in the spirograph, and the amount of rotations that each of those circles creates. The result is the shapes you see of the snowflakes! The wood is painted, and then engraved on!

These were engraved on one laser, moved to another laser to cut. That is why you see the slight inconsistency with the position of the cut and the engraving itself. I had used reference squares on another part of the wood sheet to line up the cuts on the second laser, but that didn't completely take into account rotation of the wood sheet, so that solution is mediocre at best. My new idea surrounding the two laser job stuff(I'm trying my hardest to do it because the industry think I can't do it... I WILL XD) Is to create a coordinate transfer device. Simply a cut of wood that will square itself against each machine you use using constants available such as the frame of the laser engraving machine itself. Anyways, enough of the laser nerd-ities. See you in the next post!
